ARTICLE 1.- ORGANISATION
El Gran Canaria Maspalomas Marathon 2022 es un evento deportivo organizado por la empresa DG Eventos SL impulsado por el Ilustre Ayuntamiento de San Bartolomé de Tirajana, a través de su Concejalía de Deportes. Cuenta con el apoyo y promoción del Cabildo de Gran Canaria por medio de sus áreas de Deportes y Turismo, y por el Gobierno de Canarias a través de su Consejería de Turismo y la Dirección General de Deportes.
ARTICLE 2.- THE EVENT, DATE AND PLACE OF CELEBRATION
El Gran Canaria Maspalomas Marathon 2022 tendrá lugar la semana del 17 al 20 de noviembre de 2022 y se desarrollará por las calles de Maspalomas, teniendo como centro de operaciones las inmediaciones del Faro de Maspalomas.

Active Run – sábado 19 de noviembre a partir de las 08:30 horas.
Gran Canaria Accesible (3K) – sábado 19 de noviembre a partir de las 10:00 horas
Holiday World Kids Race (Distances according to age) - Saturday 19th November from 11:30 am.
Gran Canaria Maspalomas Marathon (42.195 metres) - Sunday 20th November from 8:00 am.
VITHAS 10k - Sunday 20th November from 08:35h.

ARTICLE 3.- RULES AND REGULATIONS
The Marathon distance of the Gran Canaria Maspalomas Marathon is considered an urban foot race of 42,195 metres and runners of any nationality, federated or not, who wish to do so and who comply with the current RFEA regulations, will have access to registration, provided that they are 18 years of age on the day of the race.
The circuit, urban and on asphalt/pavement, is approved by Royal Spanish Athletics Federation,hereinafter RFEA, RFEAand all the kilometre points will be properly indicated. The race is included in the RFEA Calendar.
ARTICLE 4.- PARTICIPATION
Runners of any nationality may participate in the different races of the Gran Canaria Maspalomas Marathon 2022 and must be correctly registered in due time and form as specified in these regulations.
Athletes aged between 16 and 18 years old (on the day of the race) may participate in the 10 km distance, only under parental authorization or legal guardian of the minor (download regulatory authorization).descargar autorización reglamentaria).
This authorization must be sent by post to email@example.com at the time of registration and handed in by the participant at the race secretary's office when collecting the race bib.
Each runner participates in the race at his or her own risk and declares that he or she has sufficient physical condition to finish the race.
ARTICLE 5.- REGISTRATION
Registration will be individual for all participants. Registration can be made:

The deadlines and registration periods are governed by the following table:

Participants in the Marathon distance who are residents of the Canary Islands will receive a discount of 10€ on the above prices. Those participants with a NATIONAL LICENCE from the ROYAL SPANISH ATHLETICS FEDERATION will receive a €5 discount. It will be necessary to prove this circumstance at the time of collecting the bib.
At the time of registration, all participants will have the option of taking out cancellation insurance:
15€ insurance for the Marathon.
10€ insurance for the 10k.
By taking out this insurance, participants will be able to request a refund of the registration fee before 31st October 2022 at 23.59 pm.
Once the registration has been made, the amount will not be refunded under any circumstances, and it will not be possible to make any changes to the registration (title and/or modality), unless the registration insurance is contracted at the time of registration.

ARTICLE 7.- BIB PICK UP.
The timetable for the collection of bibs and runner's bag will be:
- Thursday 17th, Friday 18th and Saturday 19th November 2022 from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 19:00.
All bib numbers will be collected at the SECRETARIA located in the EXPO of the Marathon in the MASPALOMAS LIGHTHOUSE.
An official document (ID card or passport) will be required un documento oficial (D.N.I. o pasaporte), sin este documento el dorsal no se entregará. Se permite la retirada del dorsal por otra persona que no sea el corredor con autorización debidamente completada (descargar autorización). No se contempla la posibilidad de recoger dorsales el día de la carrera.
ARTICLE 8.- TIMING.
The timing of the Gran Canaria Maspalomas Marathon 2022 will be done by an electronic timing system using chip-bibs. Each participant will receive a personal race-bib with an incorporated chip.
The bib numbers are personal and non-transferable and must be worn clearly visible on the front of the torso, between the chest and the abdomen, during the entire race. Failure to wear the bib as indicated may be grounds for disqualification.
Athletes who are not wearing a race bib or who are not registered are not allowed to be present on the circuit.
Only those participants who run the race with the race bib and chip provided by the organisation will be included in the classification, the runner is obliged to check the proper functioning of his/her chip at the stand provided by the timing entity during the race bib distribution and to carry it with him/her in the race as indicated in this document.
The official time (from the moment the starting gun sounds to the finish line) is the only official result of the race. In any case, the so-called "net time", time from crossing the start line to crossing the finish line, will be provided to each runner as informative data without any validity whatsoever.
There will be time controls at the start, along the course and at the finish line, those athletes who intentionally skip them will be disqualified. A maximum time of 7 hours is established to complete the course, and the first lap (km 21) must be completed in a maximum time of 3 hours.
The obligatory abandonment controls will be every 10 kilometres, plus an extra control at kilometre 35. Participants who have not passed this point within the maximum time foreseen at each of these points according to the table below will have to withdraw from the race.

The race judge reserves the right to disqualify any athlete who does not wear the race bib correctly, does not complete the entire course, does not provide the organisation with the required documentation, or fails to comply with any other rule of the FCA and/or RFEA regulations.

Runners who apply for box 1 must justify their mark or time at the time of their registration, with the accrediting document (diploma or classification of the race showing their best mark in a period of less than 3 years). The document must include the name of the race, the brand and the name of the runner. This document must be sent to email@example.com before 6th November 2022.
ARTICLE 10.- CATEGORIES
In accordance with the RFEA regulations, there will be different classifications in both male and female categories, depending on the year of birth according to the following table:

ARTICLE 11.- TROPHIES, FINISHER MEDAL AND DIPLOMAS.
The following trophies will be awarded in the Marathon distance:
- Women's and Men's General Classification GENERAL: Trophy to the first 3.
- General Female and Male Classification of CANARY RESIDENTS: Trophy to the first 3.
- Absolute Female and Male General Classification: Trophy to the first 3.
- General Female and Male Under-23 Classification: Trophy to the first 3.
- Senior Women's and Men's General Classification: Trophy to the first 3.
- Women's and Men's General Classification of Master 35: Trophy to the first 3.
- General Female and Male Classification of Master 40: Trophy to the first 3.
- General Female and Male Classification of Master 45: Trophy to the first 3.
- General Female and Male Classification of Master 50: Trophy to the first 3.
- General Female and Male Classification of Master 55: Trophy to the first 3.
- General Female and Male Classification of Master 60: Trophy to the first 3.
- General Classification Women and Men Master 65+: Trophy to the first 3.
- General Classification for those countries with 15 or more athletes participating on Sunday: Trophy to the first one.

The following cash prizes are established for the general classification:
Any of the first 3 cash prizes will be reduced by 50% if the time achieved by the athlete exceeds 2h 42' 24" for women and 2h 18' 00" for men. The cash prizes for the 4th and 5th place will remain the same in all cases.
In addition, Canarian residents will receive the following prizes:
The prizes for Canarian athletes are cumulative to those of the general classification and are not linked to marks.
They will also be subject to the corresponding taxes applicable by law.
The cash prizes will be awarded after the event, by bank transfer.
Classification by country, for those athletes who have a minimum of 10 registered athletes of the same nationality.
- Trophy for the first female athlete and trophy for the first male athlete of each country.

ARTICLE 12.- COMPLAINTS.
Claims must be made orally to the Referee no later than 15 minutes after the official announcement of the results. The Referee's decision is final.
ARTICLE 13.- ANTI-DOPING.
As the II Gran Canaria Maspalomas Marathon is included in the National Calendar of the RFEA, there will be a compulsory anti-doping control in the II Gran Canaria Maspalomas Marathon. Any runner who, having been designated to pass this control, refuses to do so, will be automatically disqualified in all the categories and prizes that may correspond to him/her and his/her decision will be formally reported to the competent bodies of the RFEA. In this way, athletes who pass this control and who are entitled to a cash prize will have to wait for the result of this control to receive the prize..
ARTICLE 14.- SERVICES TO THE RUNNER
- T-SHIRT AND CHIP-BIB. - Delivery of a technical T-shirt, chip-bib and timing of the race.
- REFRESHMENTS ON THE COURSE AND AT THE FINISH LINE. - Refreshments according to the kilometre point of the course and finish line.
- TIME-TIMING SERVICE with net and gross time by chip.
- FINISHER MEDAL
- CLOAKROOM. - Cloakroom service.
- PHYSIOTHERAPY SERVICE
- MEDICAL AND FIRST AID SERVICES. - Medical assistance service along the route and hospital at the finish line.
- MEDICAL INSURANCE. - The organisation will take out a sports accident insurance policy for each of the participants in the race.
ARTICLE 15.- SPORTING BEHAVIOUR AND DISQUALIFICATIONS.
Participants are obliged to respect the indications of the security, organisation, volunteers and/or collaborators. Participants who show violent or xenophobic attitudes, carry weapons or throw rubbish outside the permitted context will be excluded from the competition.
The organisers may exclude from the event those participants who show unsportsmanlike behaviour or disrespect towards the organisers and/or the rest of the participants.
Participants accept each of the articles of these rules and undertake honestly and honourably not to anticipate the start time and to cover the full distance of the race in which they are registered up to the finish line.

The judges of the race and the organisers reserve the right to disqualify any runner who commits the following irregularities:
1. Registering with false data.
2. Altering the data provided to the Organisation or to the Judge Referee with respect to what appears on his/her ID card or federative card.
3. To place oneself in a starting box that is not the one assigned by the organsers.
4. Not being present in the area of the START at the time set by the organisation.
5. Not wearing the race bib or not wearing it correctly on the chest or manipulating and folding it.
6. Using a bib not authorized by the organisers.
7. Participating with a bib number assigned to another runner.
8. Not completing the entire course of the race or failing to pass one or more of the controls established by the organisers.
9. Failure to heed the indications of the organisers and/or judges during the course of the race.
10. Behaving in an unsportsmanlike manner.
11. Refusal to pass the doping control.
12. Manifestly showing signs of poor physical condition.
14. Failure to comply with any other rule contemplated in the Rules of the FCA, RFEA or the I Maspalomas-Gran Canaria Marathon.
15. Others in accordance with the Official Rules of the R.F.E.A.
Disqualified riders will not be eligible for prizes, trophies or diplomas by category.
ARTICE 16.- ABANDONMENT
1. Voluntary abandonment: If a runner decides to abandon the race, he/she must go to the nearest refreshment post or to the pit area and inform the coordinator of this post so that the organisation can take note of this circumstance.
2. Injury or accident: If a runner suffers any injury, accident or similar while taking part in the race, he/she should try to contact any member of the organisation so that the appropriate measures can be taken.
3. Obligatory abandonment: If the runner does not enter the finish line in the race within the maximum time established or does not comply with the partial times set by the organisers.
ARTICLE 17.- VEHICLES AUTHORISED ON THE CIRCUIT
The only vehicles authorised to follow the race will be those designated by the organisers. They will have visible identification at all times. It is strictly forbidden to follow the runners on motorbikes, bicycles, roller skates or any other wheeled vehicle.
ARTICLE 18.- COVID PROTOCOL
The II Gran Canaria Maspalomas Marathon has a detailed health protocol, available on the official website of the event. This protocol establishes the hygiene measures to be adopted by all runners.
In view of the regulatory changes derived from the COVID-19, the organisation will adapt to the health regulations in force and existing at the time of the celebration of the event on 20th November 2022.
ARTICLE 19.- DATA PROTECTION
Pursuant to Articles 13 and 14 of EU Regulation 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the Protection of Individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation, hereinafter GDPR) we inform you of the following:
Personal data derived from registration, payment and participation in events, including in some cases image and voice, will be processed by DG Eventos, SL with the following scope:
Processing (I) Management of registrations, (II) Dissemination of events, (III) Promotion of activities.

ARTICLE 20.- PARTICIPANT DECLARATION
By paying the registration fee for the II Gran Canaria Maspalomas Marathon I DECLARE under my responsibility:
NOT to suffer from acquired or congenital physical conditions, and/or injuries that could cause disorders in my health or living conditions, as a consequence of my participation in the II Gran Canaria Maspalomas Marathon.
I have undergone the relevant medical checks and I am medically fit and adequately trained for the activities that will take place in the II Gran Canaria Maspalomas Marathon.
I undertake to collaborate and comply with the instructions received (organizers, Local Police, Civil Protection, Volunteers, Judges, etc.), to ensure the safety of all runners and the smooth running of the race.
I declare that I will carry out the activities related to the II Gran Canaria Maspalomas Marathon of my own free will, at my own and exclusive risk and I assume sole responsibility for my activities, goods, health and physical and/or mental integrity, excluding any civil and/or criminal liability and expressly waiving any type of claim against the organiser and/or sponsors and/or institutions, both public and private, participating in the organisation of the II Gran Canaria Maspalomas Marathon, with respect to any damage, including but not limited to physical, moral, material, theft, robbery, loss or any other kind of damage that I may suffer or that may be caused to my person or my property before, during or after the activity related to the II Gran Canaria Maspalomas Marathon, even if the damage may arise from negligence or fault on the part of the aforementioned.
ARTICLE 21.- ACCEPTANCE OF THE REGULATIONS
All participants, by registering, accept these regulations and the disclaimer included in the participants' declaration (article 19 of these regulations). In case of doubt or if any situation arises that is not reflected in these rules, the organising company will be in charge.
Artículo 22.- CANCELACIÓN POR FUERZA MAYOR
En caso de suspensión del evento o aplazamiento de este por causa de fuerza mayor, llámese fenómenos meteorológicos adversos, conflicto laboral o huelga, decisión de la autoridad competente, etc. no se procederá a la devolución del importe pagado en la inscripción ni indemnización alguna.
1. The organisers reserve the right to make any changes to these regulations if they deem it necessary, and they must communicate this on the website and in the runner's information.
2. All matters not provided for in these regulations will be governed by the General Competition Rules of the FCA and RFEA for the current season.
3. In the event of suspension of the race due to force majeure or decision of the competent public bodies, the organisers will not refund the registration fee or assume any cost.
