ARTICLE 1.- ORGANISATION
The Gran Canaria Maspalomas Marathon 2023 is a sporting event organised by the company DG Eventos SL and promoted by the Town Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, through its Sports Department. It is supported and promoted by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria through its Sports and Tourism departments and by the Government of the Canary Islands, through its Department of Tourism.
ARTICLE 2.- THE EVENT. DATE AND LOCATION
The Gran Canaria Maspalomas Marathon 2023 will take place on the weekend of the 17th to the 19th of November 2023 and will run through the streets of Maspalomas, with the centre of operations in the vicinity of the Maspalomas Lighthouse.
It will consist of the following activities:
- Runners Village - Friday 17th and Saturday 18th November from 10:00 to 20:00, at ExpoMeloneras.
- Active Run - Saturday 18 November at 08:30 hours.
- Holiday World Kids Race (distances according to age) - Saturday 18th November at 10:00 hours.
- 3K Gran Canaria Accesible - Saturday 18 November at 11:30 a.m.
- Vithas 10K - Sunday 19 November at 08:15 hours.
- Hyundai Marathon Relays (42,195 metres in teams of 2 runners) - Sunday 19th November at 08:15 hours.
- Gran Canaria Maspalomas Marathon (42,195 metres) - Sunday 19 November at 08:00 hours.

ARTICLE 3.- RULES
The Marathon distance of the Gran Canaria Maspalomas Marathon is considered an urban foot race of 42,195 metres and runners of any nationality, federated or not, who wish to do so and who comply with current RFEA regulations, will have access to registration, provided that they are 18 years of age on the day of the race.
The circuit, urban and on asphalt/pavement, is approved by the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation, hereinafter RFEA, and all the kilometre points are properly indicated.
The race will be included in the RFEA Calendar.
ARTICLE 4.- PARTICIPATION
Runners of any nationality may participate in the distances of the Gran Canaria Maspalomas 2023 and must be correctly registered in due time and form as specified in these regulations.
Athletes aged between 16 and 18 years old (on the day of the race) may participate in the Marathon Relay and 10 km distances, only with parental or legal guardian authorisation.
To be valid, it will be necessary to provide at the time of registration, the full name and ID of the authorising person.
Each runner participates in the race under his or her own responsibility and declares that he or she is in sufficient physical condition to finish the race.
ARTICLE 5.- REGISTRATIONS
Registration will be individual for all participants.

Those participants who have a NATIONAL LICENCE from the REAL FEDERACIÓN ESPAÑOLA DE ATLETISMO will receive a €5 discount on the registration fee. It will be necessary to accredit this circumstance at the time of formalising their participation.
In addition, all participants will have the option to take out cancellation insurance to guarantee the refund of their registration, subject to the deadline below.
The price of this insurance will be 15€ for the Maspalomas Marathon and Marathon Relays. And 10€ for the Vithas 10K.
By contracting it, you can request a refund of the registration fee before 31 October 2023 at 23:59. A €10 administration fee will be deducted from this amount.
IMPORTANT: No refunds or changes of ownership and/or modality will be made without the prior contracting of this insurance.

In order to collect the material it will be essential to present an official document (ID card or passport) proving the identity of the participant. Without this document, the race bib will not be issued.
The collection of the material by a person other than the runner is permitted on presentation of a duly completed authorisation. .(download authorisation).
IMPORTANT: It is not possible to collect race bibs on the day of the race.
ARTICLE 8.- TIMING.
The timing of the Gran Canaria Maspalomas Marathon 2023 will be done by an electronic timing system, chip-bib. Each participant will receive a personal bib number which will have a chip incorporated into it.
The bib number is personal and non-transferable. It must be worn visibly on the front of the torso, between the chest and the abdomen, during the course of the race. Failure to wear it as indicated may be grounds for disqualification.
Likewise, the presence on the circuit of athletes who are not wearing a bib or who are not registered is not permitted.
Only those participants who run the race with the chip-bib provided by the Organisation will be included in the classification. The runner must check the proper functioning of his/her chip at the stand provided by the timing entity during the delivery and undertakes to carry it with him/her during the race in the manner indicated in this document.
The gross time, the time elapsed from the starting signal to the finish line, is the only official result of the race.
The net time, the time from crossing the start line to crossing the finish line, will be given to each runner for information only and will not be valid.
There will be time controls at the start, along the course and at the finish line. Athletes who intentionally skip these controls will be disqualified.
For the Maspalomas Marathon and Marathon Relays distances, a maximum time of 6 hours is established to complete the course. In the second case, the first lap (km 21) must be completed in a maximum time of 3 hours.
For the 10K distance, the maximum finishing time will be 1.5 hours.
IMPORTANT: The race judge reserves the right to disqualify any athlete who does not wear the race bib correctly, does not complete the entire course, does not provide the organisation with the required documentation or fails to comply with any other guidelines set out in the FCA and/or RFEA rules.

Runners requesting box 1 must justify their mark or time at the time of completing their registration, attaching the accrediting document; diploma or classification of the race stating their best mark dated less than 3 years ago.
ARTICLE 10.- CATEGORIES
In accordance with the RFEA regulations, different classifications will be made, both in the male and female categories, depending on the year of birth:

ARTICLE 11.- TROPHIES, FINISHER MEDAL AND DIPLOMAS.
In the Maspalomas Marathon distance the following trophies will be awarded:
- General Female and Male Classification of GENERAL: Trophy to the first 5.
- General Female and Male Classification of CANARY RESIDENTS: Trophy to the first 3.
- General Female and Male Classification of CANARY RESIDENTS: Trophy to the first 3.
- General Female and Male Under-23 Classification: Trophy to the first 3.
- Senior Women's and Men's General Classification: Trophy to the first 3.
- Women's and Men's General Classification of Master 35: Trophy to the first 3.
- General Female and Male Classification of Master 40: Trophy to the first 3.
- General Female and Male Classification of Master 45: Trophy to the first 3.
- General Female and Male Classification of Master 50: Trophy to the first 3.
- General Female and Male Classification of Master 55: Trophy to the first 3.
- General Female and Male Classification of Master 60: Trophy to the first 3.
- General Classification Women and Men Master 65+: Trophy to the first 3.
Cash prizes:

IMPORTANT: Any of the first 3 cash prizes will be reduced by 50% if the time achieved by the athlete exceeds 2h 42' 24" in the women's category and 2h 18' 00" in the men's category.
The prize money for the 4th and 5th place will remain the same in all cases.
In addition, Canarian residents will receive the following prize money:

The prizes for Canarian athletes are cumulative to those of the general classification and are not linked to marks.
All prizes will be subject to the corresponding taxes applicable by law.
The organisers will contact the winners for the delivery of the cash prizes, which will be paid after the event, by bank transfer.
The following trophies will be awarded in the Marathon Relays and 10K distances:
- General Classification Men and Women GENERAL: Trophy for the first 3 in the 10K distance and 3 first teams in the Marathon relay distance (Men, Women and Mixed).
ARTICLE 12.- COMPLAINTS.
Complaints must be made verbally to the Referee within 15 minutes of the official announcement of the results.
The Referee's decision shall be final.
ARTICLE 13.- ANTI-DOPING.
As it is included in the RFEA National Calendar, the III Gran Canaria Maspalomas Marathon will be subject to the mandatory anti-doping control.
Any runner who, having been designated to pass this control, refuses to do so, will be automatically disqualified in all categories and prizes that may correspond to him/her and his/her decision will be formally reported to the competent bodies of the RFEA.
Athletes who pass this control and are entitled to a cash prize will have to wait for the result of this control to receive the prize..
ARTICLE 14.- SERVICES TO THE ATHLETE
- T-SHIRT AND CHIP-BIB.
- REFRESHMENT POINTS ALONG THE CIRCUIT AND AT THE FINISH LINE. - Liquid and solid refreshments according to the kilometre point of the course and finish line.
- TIME-TIMING SERVICE with net and gross time by chip.
- FINISHER MEDAL on completion of the distance.
- GUARDROBE.
- MASSAGE SERVICE, only for the Maspalomas Marathon distance.
- MEDICAL AND FIRST AID SERVICES. - Medical assistance service along the route and hospital at the finish line.
- MEDICAL INSURANCE. - The organisation will contract a sports accident insurance for each of the participants in the race.
ARTICLE 15.- SPORTING BEHAVIOUR AND DISQUALIFICATIONS.
Participants are obliged to respect the instructions of the security personnel, organisation, volunteers and/or collaborators. Participants who show violent or xenophobic attitudes, carry weapons or throw rubbish outside the permitted context will be excluded from the competition.
The organisers may exclude from the event those participants who show unsportsmanlike behaviour or disrespect towards the organisers and/or the rest of the participants.
Participants accept each of the articles of these regulations and honestly undertake not to anticipate the start time and to cover the full distance of the race in which they are registered up to the finish line.
Each runner participates under his own responsibility and once his registration has been formalised, declares under the same responsibility, that he has a sufficient level of physical condition to complete the race within the closing times established by the organisers.
The judges and the organisers reserve the right to disqualify any runner who commits the following irregularities:
- Registering with false information.
- Altering the data provided to the Organization or to the Referee with respect to what appears in his ID card or federative card.
- To place oneself in a starting box other than the one assigned by the organisers.
- Not being present in the area of the START at the time set by the organisation.
- Not wearing the race bib or not wearing it correctly on the chest or manipulating and folding it.
- Using a bib not authorised by the organisers.
- Participating with a bib number assigned to another runner.
- Not completing the entire course of the race or failing to pass one or more of the controls established by the organisers.
- Failure to heed the instructions of the Organisers and/or judges during the course of the race.
- To behave in an unsportsmanlike manner.
- Refusal to pass the doping control.
- Manifestly showing signs of poor physical condition.
- Failure to comply with any other rule contemplated in the Rules of the FCA, RFEA or the III Gran Canaria-Maspalomas Marathon.
- Others in accordance with the Official Regulations of the RFEA.
Disqualified runners will not be eligible for prizes, trophies or diplomas by category.
ARTICLE 16.- ABANDONMENT
- Voluntary abandonment: If a runner decides to abandon the race, he/she must go to the nearest refreshment post or to the pit area and inform the coordinator of this post so that the organisation can take note of this circumstance.
- Injury or accident: If a runner suffers any injury, accident or similar while taking part in the race, he/she should try to contact any member of the Organisation so that the appropriate measures can be taken.
- Obligatory abandonment: If the runner does not enter the finish line in the race within the maximum time established or does not comply with the partial times contemplated by the Organisation.
ARTICLE 17.- VEHICLES AUTHORISED ON THE CIRCUIT
The only vehicles authorised to follow the race will be those designated by the organisers, which will carry visible identification at all times. It is strictly forbidden to follow the runners on motorbikes, bicycles, roller skates or any other vehicle.
ARTICLE 18.- DATA PROTECTION
Pursuant to Articles 13 and 14 of EU Regulation 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the Protection of Individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation, hereinafter GDPR) we inform you of the following:
Personal data derived from registration, payment and participation in events, including in some cases image and voice, will be processed by DG Eventos, SL with the following scope:
Processing (I) Management of registrations, (II) Dissemination of events, (III) Promotion of activities.
Purpose: (I) Management of registration procedures for events, as well as collection of participation fees, (II) Dissemination and exploitation of events for the whole world by means of photographs, films, television, radio, video, Internet and any other media. (III) Announcements of events to participants in previous editions, sale of souvenirs.
Legitimizing basis: (I) Provision of a service (Article 6.1.b) of the GDPR), (II) Consent of the Data Subject (Article 6.1.a) of the GDPR), (III) Legitimate interest (Article 6.1.f) of the GDPR).
Recipients and Processors: (I) Rock The Sports (https://www.rockthesport.com) as provider of the registration engine, and YMLP: Email Marketing Software (https://www.ymlp.com/es/) for sending informative mailings, both as Processors, (II) Physical and digital media, Social Networks such as Facebook, Instagram, etc., as recipients, (III) https://www.ymlp.com/es/ as Processor for sending the Newsletter.
Retention period: (I) Two years after the event (II) Indefinitely, as any publication on the Internet or social networks is beyond the control of the data subject and even of the data controller. (III) Until the data subject unsubscribes from any of the communications received.
Exercise of rights: You can exercise your rights by sending an email to info@dgeventos.com attaching some data that allows us to prove your identity. If you do not wish to appear in our videos or publications on the internet or social networks, we ask that you indicate this to our photographers at the time of taking the images, as once the publication has been made on the DG Events internet, you lose control over said content.

ARTICLE 19.- DECLARATION BY PARTICIPANTS
By paying the registration fee for the III Gran Canaria Maspalomas Marathon I DECLARE under my responsibility:
NOT to suffer from acquired or congenital physical conditions, and/or injuries that could cause disorders in my health or living conditions, as a consequence of my participation in the III Gran Canaria Maspalomas Marathon.
I have undergone the relevant medical checks and I am medically fit and adequately trained for the activities that will take place in the III Gran Canaria Maspalomas Marathon. I agree to collaborate and comply with the instructions received (organisers, Local Police, Civil Protection, Volunteers, Judges, etc.), to ensure the safety of all runners and the smooth running of the race.
I declare that I will carry out the activities related to the III Gran Canaria Maspalomas Marathon of my own free will, at my own and exclusive risk and I assume sole responsibility for my activities, goods, health and physical and/or mental integrity, excluding any civil and/or criminal liability and expressly waiving any type of claim against the organiser and/or sponsors and/or institutions, both public and private, participating in the organisation of the III Gran Canaria Maspalomas Marathon, with respect to any damage, including but not limited to physical, moral, material, theft, robbery, loss or any other kind of damage that I may suffer or that may be caused to my person or my property before, during or after the activity related to the III Gran Canaria Maspalomas Marathon, even if the damage may arise due to negligence or fault on the part of the aforementioned.

ARTICLE 20.- ACCEPTANCE OF THE REGULATIONS
All participants, by registering, accept these regulations and the disclaimer included in the participants' declaration (article 19 of these regulations). In case of doubt or if any situation arises that is not reflected in these regulations, the organising company will be in charge.
ARTICLE 21.- CANCELLATION DUE TO FORCE MAJEURE
In case of suspension or postponement of the event due to force majeure, such as adverse weather conditions, labour dispute or strike, decision of the competent authority, etc. There will be no refund of the amount paid for registration or any other compensation.
CONCLUDING REMARKS::
- The Organisers reserve the right to make any changes to these Rules and Regulations should they deem it necessary, and shall communicate this on the website and in the runner's information.
- All matters not provided for in these Regulations shall be governed by the General Competition Rules of the FCA and RFEA for the current season
- In case of suspension of the event due to force majeure or decision of the competent public bodies, the organisation will not refund the registration fee or assume any cost.
